Elisabet Urpí and Nacho Umpiérrez are an artistic duo who work together and share a way of life, both professionally and personally. Under the name ELIURPI, they began in 2010 creating unique pieces in the form of objects and hats. They are multidisciplinary artists, with a highly defined aesthetic that is consistent with their values.

In 2020, their sculptural works began to be acquired by international fashion and art collectors. This opened up a new paradigm and perspective toward the future. Since their artistic debut with ART U READY, within the framework of ARCO Madrid 2022, ELIURPI’s career has continued to grow and expand.

Craftspeople, creative, and honest, they are part of the new generation of 21st-century artists for whom there are no boundaries.

ART U READY returns during ARCO week for its tenth year. The artistic duo ELIURPI, formed by Elisabet Urpí and Nacho Umpiérrez, return to Madrid with a new exhibition.

The exhibition is inspired by the philosophical concept of kinesis, proposing a dialogue between two artistic disciplines: textile sculpture and photography. The show reflects on movement as an inherent quality of matter and of the continuous becoming of being. In the hylozoist thought of the Milesians, by considering everything that exists as a living being endowed with movement, kinesis appears as an intrinsic property of matter, taking on the dual meaning of movement and change.

Since their artistic debut “From Art to Object and from Object to Art” with ART U READY, within the framework of ARCO Madrid 2022, ELIURPI’s artistic career has continued to expand. In 2023, we programmed the exhibition “Circular Portraits,” and in 2024 they returned to ARCO Week with ART U READY and “Origin,” in Madrid.

In 2023, they represented Spain at the Biennale of Contemporary Art and Craft in South Korea, receiving an honorable mention. They also took part in the Biennale of Contemporary Catalan Crafts, Visions of Catalonia, exhibiting in Barcelona, Dubai, and Milan. They were selected by curator Carlos Quintans for the project “12 Miradas” at Galería Vilaseco in A Coruña and were awarded by AD as The Best of Spain 2023. That same year, they were invited to join the prestigious Homo Faber Guide by the Michelangelo Foundation.

In 2024, they held their first international solo exhibition during Milan Design Week as part of 5 VIE Milano and participated in a group show at the Barcelona Design Museum. That same year, within the framework of ARCO and ART U READY, they presented “Origin,” an exhibition in which ELIURPI showcased their most conceptual work: textile and light installations built around a narrative rooted in origins, nature, and tradition — an ode to traditional materials translated into a pure and aesthetic design language. They also presented a very special collaboration with Studio Bañón, Cartier, Massimo Dutti, and Serrano 47, among others.

In 2025, ELIURPI consolidated their international presence with the solo exhibition “Shadows and Poems” at Il·lacions Gallery (Barcelona), as well as “Panta Rei” at Sala El Taller in Mas de Torrent (Empordà), curated by Thais Botinas, and Mediterrània at Escat Gallery Barcelona. They participated in institutional exhibitions such as “Matter Matters” at the DHUB Barcelona Design Museum and “La Línea Sueña” as part of the Madrid Design Festival. Their work was also featured in “12 Out of 100K” at Design Miami. In addition, they developed artistic projects and installations in collaboration with Living Ceramics and MANERA Magazine, and took part in creative initiatives for international brands such as Massimo Dutti. Most recently, they have inaugurated an exhibition in Bali at SUN CONTEMPORARY gallery.
