The call “Thinking the City” calls for emerging artists who, through their work, reflect and dialogue on the contemporary city, offering unique perspectives on their real experiences, research and desires, from a critical awareness. ‘Vistalegre’ offers a critique of the real estate market in Barcelona through 24 photos of properties on Idealista, revealing the housing crisis and the social failure to allow the sale of flats in deplorable conditions at exorbitant prices. The images, turned into folded curtains, conceal and blur the original content, underlining the unease and lack of expectations in the domestic environment. The work emphasises the contrast between the exorbitant cost of living space in the city and the modest salaries of the citizens.
